🪪 Saving Your Player ID
First things first, it's important to keep a copy of your Player ID.
Your Player ID is a way to identify your specific device with a unique code that contains letters and numbers. Having a copy of this ID can help with things like restoring or transferring your game data or other general game support you might need in the future.
🔍 Here's how to find it:
- From the Home screen, tap on the Menu button at the top right
- Tap on the Settings icon ⚙️
- Write down or take a screenshot of your Player ID. You can also tap it to instantly copy it to your device's clipboard
💫 Knit Tip: Remember, each device has it's own Player ID, so make sure to keep them all handy if you ever switch devices.
💾 Saving Your Game Progress
Keeping your Yarn It progress safe is easy. All you need to do is link your game to your Facebook, Apple, or Google Play account. 🔗
Here's how to do it:
- From the Home screen, tap on the Menu button at the top right.
- Tap on the relevant option:
- Sign in with Facebook
- Sign in with Apple
- Sign in with Google Play
- After your account is connected, your progress will be instantly connected to your game. So if you need to reinstall Yarn It on either your current device or a brand new one, all you need to do is sign in with the same option.
💫 Knit Tip: If you didn't link your game to an account on your old device before installing Yarn It to a new device, you'll have to start the game from scratch. To keep your journey intact, make sure to connect your game so that all your hard-earned advancements will transfer over!
🔁 Transferring Your Progress to a Different Device
Got a new device and want to keep your Yarn It progress going strong? Just follow our guide below to make it happen. 😎
- If you haven't already, write down or save your old device's Player ID somewhere safe.
- Set up Yarn It on your new device where you'll have a new Player ID. Make sure you have a copy of that one too — if your old and new Player IDs are different, you're on the right track! 🚂
- If you'd like to connect with Facebook, make sure that you're logged into the same account on each device. If you're connecting with Apple or Google, make sure you're using the same Apple ID or Google Play account on both devices.
💫 Knit Tip: If you're having trouble migrating your data on Facebook, please make sure you have the latest version of Yarn It updated on both your devices. You'll also need to reconnect to Facebook after the update. - Head back to Yarn It on your previous device, go to the Main Menu, and make sure you're connected to the relevant account. If you aren't connected to an account, then tap the relevant option to save your game progress:
- Sign in with Facebook
- Sign in with Apple
- Sign in with Google Play
- Do the same thing on your new device. And voilà! Your game progress should be right where you left it.
💫 Knit Tip: Once you're logged into your Apple, Facebook, or Google account, all your progress will follow you to your new device, and you won't lose any of your hard-earned rewards or purchases!
